Hospital Foundation Launches Campaign
The Cornwall Hospital Foundation has launched a $3.5 Million fundraising campaign to bring an MRI and Digital Urology Table to the Cornwall Community Hospital by the end of 2012.
Roy Perkins and his daughter Angela Bellefeuille will head up the To Your Health! Campaign with Honorary Chair, Jim Brownell.
The Perkins Family owns and operates Rona Home Centre (Cornwall) and the Kitchen & Bath Studio. They are significant supporters of the Hospital Foundation and Roy has been on the Foundation Board as a Volunteer for over a decade. Angela has also been a volunteer with the Foundation, assisting with its annual golf tournament.
“I am delighted to be serving as Campaign Co-Chair and this opportunity is particularly meaningful to me," said Mr. Perkins. "I am joined by my daughter - involving the next generation in Cornwall. We believe residents in our region deserve a modern, complete hospital equipped to deliver the most up to date patient care.”
“This is an aggressive but attainable fundraising goal. We live in an incredibly giving community that understands having access to an MRI is essential to saving lives and providing excellent care for our families” says Mr. Perkins. “The power of philanthropy has helped fuel the extraordinary success of Cornwall Community Hospital’s redevelopment; however, we can’t be satisfied with our current success. We need to take the next step. Investments large and small are needed to drive our Hospital to even greater heights.”
Jim Brownell is the former MPP of Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry, a long-time educator and a respected community advocate.
“I am thrilled to be serving as the Honorary Chair for the To Your Health! Campaign. The addition of a state-of-the-art MRI and Digital Urology Table will enhance our Diagnostic Centre of Excellence which will be located in the new addition to the hospital and it will be fully operational by the end of this year” says Mr. Brownell. “The big picture for our community is that our hospital will have the capacity to deliver modern diagnostic imaging services – right here at home.”
The Foundation also announced that Mr. Allan Wilson will take over from Roy Perkins as Board Chair. Mr. Wilson is owner and Funeral Director of Wilson Funeral Home and has been First Vice-Chair since 2011. Mr. Perkins will remain on the Foundation Board as Past Chair.
“I’m honored to serve as Foundation Board Chair as we continue to work towards our goal of raising funds to provide the hospital with priority medical equipment,” said Mr. Wilson. “Great communities build the best hospitals. I feel strongly that our community has the leadership, vision and commitment to help us ensure exceptional healthcare equipment, technology and services now and for generations to come.”
“We have a tremendous group of individuals who are very dedicated to ensuring our local hospital has what it needs to provide the best possible patient care," said Connie Vardy, Executive Director of CCH Foundation.
