St. Lawrence College Graduates 507 Students

St. Lawrence CollegeCORNWALL, ON – More than 500 students graduating from St. Lawrence College’s Cornwall campus will don regalia for Convocation on Friday, June 8, 2012.

“We’re so proud of all our graduates today,” said Chris Whitaker, President and CEO of St. Lawrence College. “We’re confident each of them will be ready to start their careers in their chosen fields with the education they’ve received at St. Lawrence, and we’re happy to play such an important role in their lives.”

Convocation will be held in Aultsville Theatre on St. Lawrence College’s Cornwall campus. A 10:00 am ceremony will be held for students graduating from programs in the School of Health Sciences. The Valedictorian for the 10:00 am ceremony is Lindsay Richer, who will graduate from the Practical Nursing program.

An afternoon ceremony will be held at 1:30 pm for students graduating from programs in the School of Applied Science and Computing, School of Community Services, and School of Skilled Trades and Tourism. The Valedictorian for the 1:30 pm ceremony is Laurie Beckstead, who will graduate from the Environmental Technician program.

An evening ceremony will be held at 5:00 pm for students graduating from programs in the School of Business, School of Justice Studies and Applied Arts, and School of Part-Time Studies. The Valedictorian for the 5:00 pm ceremony is Natasha Ferguson, who will graduate from the Police Foundations program.

"Your diploma or degree means much more than a piece of paper and a line on your resume," said Paul Fitzpatrick, Chair of the Board of Governors for St. Lawrence College, as he addressed the graduates. "It is a key that will unlock new opportunities and I encourage you to take full advantage of those opportunities as you encounter them."
