Third Annual Trunk Sale Set for Sunday
Cornwall Ontario - The third annual Trunk Sale and Pamper Me Party will be held at Marlin Orchards, located just east of Cornwall overlooking the St. Lawrence River. It all happens starting at 11 am on Sunday November 4th.
Described as a “relaxed afternoon of open air shopping,” the event features about 50 vendors in a quaint country atmosphere. Organizers take the time selecting vendors to ensure a wide variety of interesting products and services, making this a one-of-a kind-shopping experience.
“There is nothing quite like it in the area,” says Karen Torrie-Racine, Volunteer Office Manager with the MS Society. “There is such a positive community atmosphere that it seems like a nice walk at a country fair where you meet up with good friends.”
The Trunk Sale and Pamper Me Party features more than just shopping.
Along with established Cornwall-area retailers such as Life’s Little Pleasures, The Squire Shop, Love Love Food, and Marlin Orchards, there are also an impressive assortment of home-based entrepreneurs, such as Silpada, Stella and Dot, and Signature Home Style. Experience local culture in Artist Alley, which will feature the work of Noella Cotnam, Frank Burelle, and Tracy-Lynn Chisholm, among others. Taste area delights in the food section at booths featuring the culinary styling of Moustache Joe’s, Schnitzels, and Dish Café.
All vendors will be donating a minimum of 10% of their sales to the MS Society of Cornwall, the more you shop, the more they give!
For those looking for the “Pamper Me” portion of the day, they will be in the good hands of people from Dynamic Hair Studio, Shorteez Urban Hair Shop, and Nails by Nancy. Registered massage therapists will be on hand giving back and neck massages.
Live music will be performed throughout the afternoon by Roxanne Delage, who is celebrating the release of her new CD, The Way I Am. Roxanne will be joined by friends, Rod Robillard and Marc Carrière.
The event is organized by Julie Hickman, Debbie Burns, Tony Lacroix and Nancy Sylvester.
“Plan on spending the afternoon,” say organizers, rain or shine. "There will be a seating area, under shelter, to relax and visit with people you meet".
The first Trunk Sale attracted 500 people in 2010, raising $5200 for breast cancer research. Last year’s event, welcomed over 1200 people and raised $11,500 for the MS Society. Expectations for a very successful event are high again this year.
An ATM will be on site, however, shoppers are encouraged to bring cash with them. There will also be a raffle for a wonderful “Wine, Dine, and Stay” package valued at $1000. Tickets for draw can be purchased on the day of the event.
The event runs from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, rain or shine.
Tickets can be pre-purchased for $5 at Marlin Orchards, Life’s Little Pleasures and at www.we3girls.ca.
