Cornwall and the Counties Visitor Guide 2013Cornwall Ontario - Cornwall and the Counties Tourism (CCT) continue to change the way this region presents itself as a viable tourist destination with a new, upgraded Visitor Guide for 2013.

The publication is produced yearly and traditionally acted as a directory for the tourist, providing a list of restaurants, attractions, shopping and other assets of interest to a visitor. The 2013 Visitor Guide maintains the valuable directory, but it also incorporates a new vision that the team at CCT wanted to convey.

“We wanted to create something that was worth holding on to; something people could keep on their coffee table,” says Linda Wilson, Executive Director of CCT. “We want the visitor to be excited about coming to our region, and our residents to be proud of where they live. We think this new Visitor Guide will do just that.”

The format has changed from a smaller publication to a full, newsstand magazine size with beautiful design work and added editorial, which gives the guide a more personable, inviting feeling. All the creative work was done in-house, with the four staff members of CCT directing their expertise to the project, while Seaway News was responsible for the publishing and advertisement sales.

The Visitor Guide was completed slightly earlier this year, giving the CCT team a fresh, new look to take with them when they head out to promote the region to other markets in the coming months.

“We are targeting the active outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen outside the region this year at cycle and adventure trade shows in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto,” Wilson notes. “We’re excited to show off our new look and hopefully attract more out-of-town visitors to experience our region. “

The Tourism team will be attending the following shows this year:

  • Montreal Velo Show (February 15-17)
  • Toronto International Cycle Show (March 1-3)
  • Ottawa Travel and Vacation Show (March 9-10)
  • Ottawa Outdoor and Adventure Travel Show (March 16-17)

The 2013 Visitor Guide will be available across Cornwall and SDG at designated CCT kiosks, or can be picked up at the CCT Visitor Centre at 11 Water St. East. You can also ask for a free copy to be mailed to you using the Request Info form on this website.
