CanadianTravel.com Opens New Office in Cornwall

CanadianTravel.com, one of Canada's largest travel discounters, has opened an inbound call centre in Cornwall. The office opened on December 1st, 2008 with 9 full-time employees. The company plans on growing the Cornwall office to 15 full-time employees in 2009.

The company has made a long-term commitment to Cornwall and has purchased a 3700 sq.ft. building, located at 338 Second Street West. The company's corporate offices are in Ottawa.

"We chose Cornwall for several factors. Cornwall is the ideal Ontario location as we want to establish a stronger presence in Quebec in the future" said Alain Pilon, Company President and Owner. "We were also impressed by the amount of bilingual call centre agents with travel experience. It's just a perfect fit for our company."

"Mr. Pilon was born and raised in Cornwall, and it's nice to see him back and investing in his hometown," said Mayor Bob Kilger. "I wish him and his staff the best of success over the next few weeks and months, which traditionally is a very busy time in the Canadian travel industry."

CanadianTravel.com was founded in 2004 by Alain Pilon. In a few short years it has grown to become one of Canada's largest travel discounters, reselling high quality vacations offered by major Canadian tour operators at discounted prices. It resells from all major tour operators, such as Transat Holidays, Sunwing, Sunquest, Air Canada, Signature Vacations, etc. The products sold include discounted all-inclusive vacations, escorted bus trips to New York City, escorted European vacations, cruises, discounted hotels and more.

"We make booking travel online easy," said Alain Pilon. "Our goal is to provide our customers with the best prices, the best information and the best customer service in the industry."

CanadianTravel.com is a registered travel agency with The Travel Industry Council of Ontario.

The Cornwall office operates as an inbound call-centre, serving clients from across Canada. The office takes calls from 8am to midnight Monday through Friday and 8am to 5pm Saturdays and Sundays. It also welcomes walk-in customers, Monday through Friday from 10am-6pm and 8am to 5pm on weekends.

"We have a serious commitment to customer service", said Alain Pilon. "We are always looking for bilingual travel enthusiasts that have call center and travel experience. While most of the staff has extensive travel experience, the company provides a 4-week training program for new hires. Ongoing training is reflection of the fact that the travel industry is constantly changing".

The company is also a tour operator for escorted bus trips to New York City. Typically, the tours have departed from Montreal and Quebec City. In 2009, new departure locations in Toronto, Ottawa and Cornwall will be added, with additional new interesting destinations added to the mix.

"Our company's growth is based upon on our ability to deliver a quality product at great prices and with superior customer service", notes Alain Pilon. "That growth has allowed us to consider new markets, and we will be opening up a new company early next year that will create more good paying jobs for Cornwall."
