The beautiful St. Lawerence River has been the setting for many films and video projects, including an increasing number of locally produced projects.
Fishrizzo Productions
Fishrizzo Productions is a joint venture between filmmaking partners Frank Burelle and John Earle.
The two collaborated on their first film in 2007, entitled Submerged. A year later, the pair were at it again, releasing the film Treasures of The Lost Villages in 2008.
In 2009, Burelle and Earle released a film called 86400. It is unique portrayal of the City of Cornwall that features over 30 unscripted interviews with local people. The film was shot over a 24 hour period (or 86400 seconds) and the film crew traversed the 62 square kilometers of the City's boundary. The film focuses on the positive aspects of life in Cornwall, past, present and future, while not ignoring the ups and downs that the city has endured over the past century.
Aultsville Winter Filmfest
Aultsville Winter Filmfest is an annual film festival that takes place at Galaxy Cinemas during the last weekend in January. The Friday – Sunday festival features five independent film screenings, short films made by local students, afternoon coffee socials, and a gala evening reception. The Winter Filmfest is supported by the Toronto International Film Festival Group and Film Circuit. All proceeds from the Aultsville Winter Filmfest support Aultsville Theatre, Cornwall’s performing arts venue. Visit for more information.
DreamBuilderStudios
DreamBuilderStudios is a state-of-the-art film and music studio located along the St. Lawrence River in the west end of Cornwall. The studio was created to make a facility available to all independent artists who typically would not have access to a large studio complex to create their art.
The Film/Video studio offers complete shooting and editing facilities including a chroma green scree, allowing a wide variety of projects to be undertaken. A second 30,000 sq ft, Studio B is slated for construction in the Fall of 2009.
The Audio Studio was designed from by a renowned acoustical engineer, working and is the only soffit mounted 5.1 surround control room in Eastern Canada.
